Space loot
While your ship drifts through space, bits float past the hull. Iron chunks join them after you have mined at least 10 iron chunks. Time Shards join them after you have mined at least 10 Time Shards from shard veins. Tap iron to add it to your main inventory. Tap bits to add them to your Bits balance. Tap Time Shards to add them to your Time Shard balance. Iron and bits rewards are small and frequent. Time Shards are rarer. Amounts grow in higher planet regions, but they do not replace mining on exploration runs.
- Bits appear from the start. Iron chunks appear after you have mined at least 10 iron chunks. Time Shards appear after you have mined at least 10 Time Shards.
- Each kind has its own on-screen limit. Up to three iron chunks and three bits clusters may be visible at once. At most 1 Time Shard chunk is visible at once.
- New floaters drift in on independent clocks. Iron and bits often arrive on the order of tens of seconds. Time Shards take about 105 seconds on average. The three kinds do not arrive on the same beat.
- You can collect up to 20 Time Shard chunks each hour.
- In the first region each Time Shard scoop is between 60 and 120 shards. Later regions grant more.
- Tap iron to collect. It flies toward the Inventory button on the ship bottom bar, with green +quantity name Llevel text (e.g. +3 Iron Chunk L3).
- Tap bits to collect. They fly toward the bits icon on the ship top bar, with green +N Bits text that drifts downward so it stays on screen.
- Tap Time Shards to collect. They fly toward the Time Shard icon on the ship top bar, with green +N Time Shards text that drifts downward so it stays on screen.
- In higher regions you collect more iron (and at higher item level), more bits, and more Time Shards per scoop. Exact amounts vary from scoop to scoop.
- Space loot becomes available after the ship tutorial, once the player is free to wander the hub.
